It’s official, we are now homeowners! We signed the papers and got the keys on Friday. The sellers are really great people. They said they would be in town for another month, and gave us their cell phone number incase we had any questions we hadn’t thought of originally. Said to call anytime. It’s a good thing too, cause we have some of the their mail. Our real estate agent gave us a great thank you basket. He even thought of the dogs and the kids when he put this basket together. He’s only 20, and this was his first house. We worked with him because his mother wanted us to give him a chance. I think he was a bit over zealous with the basket. The sellers agent only gave them a bottle of wine. When we first started working with him our agent was still in a shell of sorts, and I think he blossomed during this period. He opened up, and actually learned how to say bye on the phone instead of just hanging up. Hehe I’ll certainly recommend him if he sticks with real estate.
On the baby front I went back to the doctor yesterday. The nurse listened for the baby’s heartbeat, and with great difficulty finally found it. He’s still moving like a freight train full speed ahead in here. The doc looked at the ultrasound results from last week, and confirmed that indeed the baby is extra big (a whole pound larger then he should be at this point!), and that I have a high level of amniotic fluid. He measured the AFI and it’s at 23.54.
Speaking of buying things, I bought a snow blower/thrower last night. I ordered it from Sears, and they will let me know when it’s in and can be picked up. Probably next week. The one I got is normally $599, but it’s on sale for $489. If you need a snow thrower today is the last day of the sale, so you better get yours ordered. Snow is on it’s way people. Last night we had a mix of rain and snow. This morning I could see a few flurries mixed in with the rain, and it’s supposed to actually snow later today. I can’t wait to see it, but it isn’t going to stick around long this time. The news says the counties will have their plows and other snow removal equipment up and running by mid December. I hope we don’t get a crazy snow storm.
The weather here has been awful. It’s been raining for more then 2 weeks straight. It’s probably closer to 3 weeks. The ground is so soggy you can’t even walk through the grass without getting your feet and pants soaked. Snow will certainly be a nice change of pace. I know I’ll feel differently by January, and will be wishing for warm days again, and maybe even wanting rain instead. The picture below is what it’s been like here for weeks on end. It was taken in the middle of the day, not near sunset. And no, that isn’t our car.
I have all the utilities hooked up in the new house, or set up with dates for connection. Here we’ve been using MCI for our phone carrier. Last week I tried to call and have the service transferred, and see if we could keep the same number. After waiting on the line for quite some time I got a guy who said they were updating their system, and couldn’t access my account. He said he would call me back later that day. I never received a call. So Monday I tried to call again and was told the wait time was quite long, by a computer no less. I hung up and did some searching to find the local carrier for our house, and called them. They were more then happy to help me, and set us up. We had to get a new number, but the current one wouldn’t have carried over anyway, I was told. I just got off the phone, in between writing on this journal, from calling MCI to completely cancel our service. After dealing with that damn automated system I finally got a person only to be told once again that their system was updating and she couldn’t access my account. I was livid and she certainly heard an earful. She said she could call me back, and I demanded to be helped right then. Of course I was told there was nothing she do and that she would call me back. I told her it better be soon cause I couldn’t wait around here all day for her to call back. Well, what do you know? She actually called me back about 2 minutes later. She of course, doing her job, asked if they could keep me as a customer and just transfer my service. I wanted to tell her that I would deal with their company again on a cold day in hell, but I said that I didn’t care for their lack of service and that I had already connected another number. NEVER NEVER NEVER get service with MCI! Whenever possible deal with local companies! I’m getting the same deal with Verizon for the same price. Unlimited local and long distance, call waiting, caller ID, and 3 way calling (which I’ll probably never use, but I had to pick a 3rd service) for only $49.95 plus taxes. Yes
Well, I’d like to go take a nap right now. However, I should get a shower, and get over to the house. The floors need swept and mopped before all of the furniture is brought in. I can load up my van with the plastic totes full of toys, and not have it be a wasted trip. Then it will be back here to get some packing and cleaning done.

Congratulations!! I've bought three houses and sold two and I've only received a basket one time (a crappy patriotic throw blanket one other time), and never received anything as a seller--not even a bottle of wine. :-( 
Hi Rob. Thanks for your concern. I can lift small things, like the toys I'm taking over in a bit. (still haven't gotten that shower I mentioned. lol)
